2012 – Naples
The Gulf Coast Adult Soccer League (GCASL) was formed by Tony Richichi and Paul Kemmerer over 30 years ago. The GCASL was formed and affiliated with the Florida State Soccer Association (FSSA) to provide an organized league for teams in Southwest Florida to play in. It was the only adult league in the area.
The League started out as an Open division league with teams from Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples, Port Charlotte, Marco Island and Immokalee, but as the players got older the league transitioned into being an Over 30 league and then into an Over 40 league.
Today the League is back to having an Open division, as well as Coed and a Women’s division. To compete with the other leagues in the area (and there are many) that play mostly on the weekends, the GCASL plays all its games during the week. The League started playing 7v7 that has proved to be so popular that we now have over 90 teams playing in Naples at the North Collier Regional Park – N. Naples.
And yes, some of the original Over 40 division players, now in their 60’s and 70’s are still playing.
The GCASL is open to all adult players looking for an organized, well run and fun league to play in.
